Renardus provides integrated search and browse access to records from individual participating subject gateway services across Europe.

The Resource Discovery Network consists of several subject based hub sites offering specific communities a tailored view of the web. Our project is focussing on improving and expanding the functionality of these services in order to develop them into fully-grown Subject Portals.

Value-added services such as interactive web tutorials and alerting services are also provided to enable users to make more of their time on the Internet.

The AARLIN portal project emerged from a CAUL [Council of Australia University Librarians] strategic planning workshop in 1999, and was adopted as one of the strategic objectives of CAUL. The aim of the AARLIN project is, in its broadest sense, to develop an academic libraries network to facilitate resource-sharing among Australian university libraries. It aims to "research, design,test and implement a national portal access framework to the Australian research library system."

DLESE stands for the Digital Library for Earth System Education. It is a grassroots, community-based effort involving teachers, students, and scientists working together to create a library of educational resources and services to support Earth system science education, at all levels, in both formal and informal settings. DLESE resources include electronic materials for both teachers and learners such as lesson plans, maps, images, data sets, visualizations, assessment activities, curriculum, online courses, and much more
